Real Romance at City Hall NYC Including Jimmy Choos and a Borrowed Bouquet

Words and Pictures by Angela Cappetta

Whoever says that City Hall isn't romantic is a fool.  Jeein and Jeff finally decided, after five years together, it was time.  In spite of their family's wishes for a big shebang, they kept it small, personal and romantic at the NYC Marriage Bureau.  Jeein wore a bespoke dress by Blue, and Jeff cut the dash in a Joseph Abboud suit (no tie.)  Even Jeein's tiny yet fierce 80 year old grandmother (aka Halmoni--Korean for Grandmother) wouldn't miss this for the world.  A bride in the antechamber, upon overhearing Jeein lament with her mother over forgetting to buy flowers, sweetly loaned her a bouquet of succulents by Sprout Home to carry during her ceremony (ie "something borrowed.") Evidence of the flower exchange is shown below.

After the five minute nuptials the families broke bread together at Fig and Olive in the Meatpacking District.  The luncheon, not unlike the Tiffany rings the couple exchanged, was exquisite.  These pictures prove that you don't need big ideas to make a wedding day wonderful, just a humble heart.
