An Affair to Remember: A Bouley Wedding Reception

Lior and Ran met on a blind date through a friend in their homeland.  Since these two grooms live big + busy lives in Israel, they craved a tiny wedding in New York with Ran's brother and sister-in-law.  Plans were made, plane tickets bought and course was set directly for New York City.

Lior is a full time makeup artist and Ran, a physician in a hospital.  With schedules like theirs, they needed to keep it simple.  After a five minute City Hall ceremony with their wedding photographer (aka me) and two family members, they enjoyed a luxurious lunch at Bouley.  Chef David Bouley took good care of the grooms, sending out course after course of food from a special menu made just for them.

The four shared a sumptuous lunch with dishes named things like "forager's plate" and "apple foam mist."  Instead of cutting a cake, the grooms shared spoonfuls of soufflé + home made fruit ice cream.

Lior said, after their fifth course, with three more still to come, "Now, this is the way to get married."
